VMware 2021 Cycling Kit

08.23.2021 by William Lam // 12 Comments

It looks like while I was out on PTO, the VMware 2021 Cycling Kits (Men/Woman) went live on VMware's official Merchandise Store. I know many of you have been asking about prior VMware Cycling Kits and you now have the opportunity to ride in style with the latest VMware 2021 Cycling Kits.

UPDATE (08/25/21) - I just found out there was a small window for ordering the cycling kits which officially ended on 8/20 and was only extended for a few more days. Unfortunately, it looks like the vendor is no longer accepting any orders. Apologies for this as I had only found out after coming back from PTO earlier this week and was not aware of the deadline.

Note: I also saw that the description for the bibs, shorts and jersey all list "LIMITED TIME", so I imagine these will not be around forever and if you are interested, definitely get your order in as soon as you can

VMware 2017 Cycling Kit

07.14.2017 by William Lam // 22 Comments

I know many of you have reached out over the years and have expressed interest in the VMware Cycling Kits which I have written about here & here. In fact, I still get pinged about this topic every couple of months even though the last time we had ran an order was back in 2014! Obviously, the demand is still high and who can blame you, the kits look freaking amazing 🙂

Earlier this week, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that we were working on a new 2017 VMware Cycling Kit! Kasey Linden, who works in our Federal team was leading this effort and was gauging interests internally. I was definitely interested and I had also suggested that we open this up to the general public as historically it was kept internal for logistical purposes. Not only did Kasey love the idea, but he plans to have the cycling kits available directly on the VMware Merchandise Store for anyone to purchase, which is huge if you ask me!

As of right now, the designs are currently being worked on with the vendor and once that has been approved, it will go live on the VMware Store. We are hoping this should happen around mid to late September.

VMware Canary Challenge accepted! Help needed

09.24.2014 by William Lam // Leave a Comment

I just found out about the Canary Challenge after seeing a tweet from a from a fellow VMware colleague Ray Blanchard. The Canary Challenge takes place this Saturday in Palo Alto and it to raise money for the Canary Center at Stanford to help fund early cancer detection research. I think this is another awesome cause and so I have decided to sign up for the 75mile ride (depending on how I feel, may consider the 100mile option).

Some might say I am crazy to sign up for another event, especially after just recently completing the Waves to Wine century ride for the National MS Society. I figured I could carry my training over to this event and I could also help support a local cause in my own Silicon Valley backyard. I also found out that the VMware team for this event (one of the reasons I am joining) is currently the #1 corporate fundraiser, in addition our very own VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger is among the top funderaiser which is just awesome to hear! Each attendee must raise a minimum of $400 and I literally have less than 4 days left to reach that goal, but I am also hoping I can raise a bit more. This is where I need your help, once again. If you would like to support me, the VMware team and most importantly, the Canary Center at Stanford, please consider donating!

If you wish to donate towards my ride, please click here for more details. Please share this with your co-workers, friends and family! For VMware employees who donate, do not forget to get it matched by the VMware Foundation!

My good VMware buddies Todd Valentine from Office of CTO and Uday Medietty from our Core API team will also be riding. Feel free to also support them as well!

Thank you for your considerations!
